WINTER ESSENTIALS

It’s getting coooold. My skin is chapped, my hair is dry, and my lips are a wintery shade of flaky pale (hot stuff, I tell you). In the winter time, as the temperatures drop and the air changes, I need a change in my routine as well.  Creams get thicker, lip balms get more intense, and I find myself concentrating more on my skin care and less on my makeup.  Below are some of my favorite things to keep my skin dewy and hair shiny, even though the weather would rather suck the life out of me!

Kiss Mix by Eve Lom – This super moisturizing lip balm leaves a subtle sheen on your lips and is perfect on it’s own and leaves lips crack free when topped with a bold lipstick.

121124_fpx.tifLaura Mercier Créme Brûlée Honey Bath – I take more baths in the winter time and this creme smells so amazing and leaves my skin super soft.

goldlust-masque-large

Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Masque – This hair mask might be on the pricey side but it definitely delivers results. After leaving it on my hair for 5 minutes, I’m left with soft, shiny, bouncy hair.
s381145-main-LheroBliss High Intensity Hand Cream – Did I mention I’m a hand model as well?  No joke – I am a child-size hand model (random, I know!) and keeping my hands smooth and crack free is a must.  This cream is super moisturizing but doesn’t leave me with butter-fingers.
30ml_beautifyingfaceoilTata Harper Beautifying Face Oil – I wish I had a big enough wallet to try all her amazing 100% natural products.  This fast absorbing face oil works for any skin type – even mine, which is combination and prone to break outs.

HOW-TO: HIGHLIGHTING

title-1

My amazingly talented cousin Claire, is the master-mind behind The Kitchy Kitchen.  It’s filled with wonderful recipes, lifestyle tips, beautiful photography, and now a collaboration with yours truly.  I’m so excited to be a part of her monthly beauty series and this month I show you how to wear highlighter.  Check out the article on her blog, and read below!

If you’re missing that dewy summer skin, it might be time to add some highlighter to your daily routine. Dull, dry skin will get an instant boost with a subtle glow. Keep it simple by dabbing a little liquid highlighter in a few areas for amazing, luminous skin.

HIGHLIGHTERS

Now that summer is over, so is that dewy complexion.  Sorry kids.  Dry winter months can bring dull skin so now is the perfect time to break out the highlighters.  I’ve rounded up some of my favorite ones that will give you that instant “lit from within” glow.  Lightly dab (or brush) a little on your cheek bones, brow bone and cupid’s bow for luminous skin.
